Anthropomorphic Trip ~

And so I find myself wondering down the rabbit hole leading into the land of strange and peculiar characters,  as I begin a new project: Anthropomorphism! I feel a need to wander through the history books, searching for imposing and interesting figures that I can give a new pulse to... a bit of life extension, or at least a change of life-style!

I'm going to start with an American Civil War period character: General Raven. He's based upon Winfield Scott (June 13, 1786 – May 29, 1866). Scott was a United States Army general, and unsuccessful presidential candidate of the Whig Party in 1852. I have no idea yet where this project is going, but it should be fun!

At Ripplebrook Camp

A scary rat fled the scene, late one night....
Willy Week & Camping Sketch.

A Sketch!

A little friend
Melanie and I recently camped for three wonderful days at Ripplebrook Camp, in the Mt Hood National Forest, near Estacada, Oregon. http://www.tripleblaze.com/2/5783/Campgrounds/Ripplebrook.html We had mostly beautiful weather, and enjoyed great camp food (Hobo Stew!) and hikes through the lush, moss carpeted forest surrounding our camp site. I did a bit of sketching while there ~ she enjoyed a bit of knitting, and we both luxuriated in the pure pleasure of being out in the middle of a truly beautiful forest.

Another Distinguished Gentleman

This fellow is one of three characters I drew ~ colored pencil on a rough textured heavy watercolor paper.

A favorite place

The Chinese Garden in Portland, OR, one of my favorite places for quiet contemplation.
